What its about:
The Departed is a Crime drama film, its been remade off the Hong Kong Film Infernal Affairs.
Based in Boston the film follows the relationship between a crime boss played by Jack Nicholson and the FBI.
The critical part of this film is the undercover agents in both groups. Matt Damon for the crime boss and Leo for the police.
The resulting conflict between the two undercover operatives drives the conflict in the film as both groups realize there are leaks and try to find them and eliminate them.


Whats good about it? This film is clever, it ducks and dives as each group gets closer and closer to finding out the truth. The tension and conflict is largely increased by the the two main leads of Leo and Matt. The film editing causes the dramatic tension to also increase also as the gangster drama continues. The grimy and gritty setting of the film helps give the film a realistic feeling and engrossing nature.

What I think: This film is highly engrossing and involving film. It leaves the viewer short of breathe and in tension as you watch it. It quickly gives the setting and builds the characters in a realistic manner and depicts what there character would do in such a manner as well . The film trimuphs in its conclusion ending in a spectacular way and ending the film in a brilliant way leaving little plot holes and happy.
